VMware vRealize Automation, formerly called vCloud Automation Center, is a software product for unified cloud management. vRealize Automation provides administrators with the ability to provision and configure storage, network and compute resources across multiple private and hybrid cloud platforms. It also allows administrators to automate application delivery and simplify the deployment of multi-tiered applications while managing multi-vendor and multi-cloud infrastructures.

VMware vRealize Automation is available as a standalone application or can be purchases as part of the VMware vRealize Suite and VMware vCloud Suite packages.

According to VMware, vRealize Automation offers four key benefits:

Agility – Allows administrators to automate IT service delivery.

Control – Allows administrators to customize policy enforcement for such things as application deployment standards, resource quotas and ad service levels.

Choice – Allows administrators to select which cloud provider(s) will help the organization meet current business requirements.

Efficiency – Allows administrators to improve IT service management in a cost-effective manner.
