QUESTION POSED ON: 11 April 2007
How do I copy Virtual Machine Addition drivers from a virtual machine to the ADS Deployment Agent Builder service repository on the virtual server?

>
EXPERT RESPONSE
While I'm not an expert on Automated Deployment Services (ADS), I think I may be able to provide some helpful information. When you choose to install the Virtual Machine Additions from within the Virtual Server Administration web site, the VMs (virtual machine's)primary virtual CD/DVD drive is mapped to the Virtual Machine Additions ISO file behind the scenes. You can find VMAdditions.iso within the "Program FilesMicrosoft Virtual ServerVirtual Machine Additions" folder. Since it's a standard ISO, you can mount it on any system (using a utility like Daemon Tools), and extract the setup files and folders that are included within it. The VM Additions use a standard installer which should be compatible with automated deployment services such as ADS. Additionally, you can find specific drivers and .inf files, if you require those as well. I hope this helps!
