How does consolidation affect the management of servers?

EXPERT RESPONSE

Consolidation can greatly improve the overall management of the physical hardware of servers. This is because consolidation platforms such as blades, SANs, virtualization software, all come with management software that is integrated with said platform. However, this does not translate into management of operating systems. There are just as many OSs to manage as before.
