VMware cuts free ESXi hypervisor support, fuels battle vs. Hyper-V

VMware has told Veeam Software to stop supporting ESXi in its new Backup and Replication 3.1 offering. The move raises questions about VMware's approach to ESXi: Is it supposed to be for production deployments, or is it just a trial version?
