VMware will virtualize the Google Chrome Operating System when it comes out late next year, the company confirmed this week.

That news highlighted a busy week in the server virtualization market. Aside from the VMware-Google Chrome OS story, there was also major news from Microsoft. The company issued three drivers -- part of 20,000 lines of code -- designed to help Linux operating systems run better on Hyper-V, and it also released Hyper-V R2 to manufacturing.

This edition of This Week in Virtualization recaps all these stories and features an interview with virtualization expert Greg Shields, a partner with Concentrated Technology, who discusses the Microsoft-Linux news in depth.
