Oracle virtualization licensing, pricing still prohibitive

Oracle's virtualization licensing policies are keeping potential customers away, even though the company took steps this week to make it easier to run its applications virtually.

Oracle is packaging its Siebel CRM as a virtual appliance and offering a free tool for building custom templates, but analysts and systems administrators say its virtualization licensing and pricing is still prohibitive. That's because Oracle licenses its applications on a per-physical-processor basis.
