Enabled Server Acceleration Alliance (Intel ESAA) to develop integration between Intel's TXT trust measurement firmware and HyTrust's security policy management software. Intel TXT measures whether a virtual machine is "trusted" from the underlying hardware layer, meaning compromised VMs can be prevented from being VMotioned onto secure hardware; the feature, which HyTrust accesses through a VMware application programming interface developed with Intel, can also limit which physical hosts are eligible to host guest virtual machines that are subject to PCI DSS and other regulatory compliance guidelines. HyTrust will present this information to end users through its graphical user interface and use the information to enforce policies by stopping migrations.
