Reflex Systems builds on VMsafe APIs
The first products to use VMware's VMsafe application programming interfaces, or APIs, included in vSphere 4 have begun to appear. Reflex Systems' vTrust augments the company's existing Reflex Virtualization Management Center (VMC), which provides dynamic policy enforcement of virtual assets, classification, virtual trust zones, dynamic network control, and adaptive roaming policies that move with virtual assets, the company said.
VTrust also introduces the notion of virtual metatagging (vmTags) and the Virtualization Query Language (VQL) for defining policies and doing ad hoc queries of the underlying infrastructure. VTrust also provides network segmentation, and can quarantine rogue or unauthorized virtual machines.
VTrust is available to customers running Reflex VMC and VMware vSphere 4 and will be available when vSphere 4 ships this quarter.
