Virtualization Strategies for the CIO2010 Product categories
Virtualization technologies have provided IT managers with tangible and immediate ways to save on hardware and energy costs, augment data center flexibility, and even improve server management and performance.
Today, SearchServerVirtualization.com has announced the winners of its annual Products of the Year awards, a sampling of the companies we and our judges believe are best positioned to provide great products in 2011 and beyond.
The awards span five areas of virtualization technology:
- virtualization platforms
- virtualization management
- backup and storage
- virtualization security
- desktop virtualization
Winners were selected from a pool of products announced and shipped after Nov. 1, 2009, and before Oct. 15, 2010. Nominations were submitted by vendors and users, then evaluated by a panel of independent judges. Awards were granted based on the following criteria:
- ease of integration into existing environments;
- functionality;
- innovation;
- manageability;
- performance; and
- value.
