Best virtualization products of 2008

The end of 2008 will be remembered for the crash of the global economy and, within our world, rapidly shrinking IT budgets. But there are always companies poised to punch back and capitalize on these events, and the virtualization market is full of them.
Today, SearchServerVirtualization.com has announced the winners of its annual Products of the Year awards, a sampling of the companies we and our judges believe are best positioned to provide great products in 2009 and beyond.
The awards span five categories: virtualization platforms, data protection, systems and performance management , lab management and workflow automation, and desktop virtual desktop infrastructure. Winners were selected from a pool of products announced and shipped between Nov. 1, 2007, and Nov. 1, 2008, and were submitted by the vendors themselves or users. Awards were granted based on innovation, value, performance, reliability and ease of use.
