Few things stuck out more to VMworld 2012 attendees during the first keynote than the end of virtual RAM (vRAM) licensing. Other announcements that interested the crowd included the introduction of vSphere 5.1, news about VMware's further involvement with OpenStack and details on VXLAN.

With all that news to talk about, VMware provided a place for people to gather, chat and tweet up a storm. Blogger Luigi Danakos spills on VMworld's "hang space," an area for attendees to get involved with the virtual community during the show through video and social media.
