Editor's note
VMware announces new initiatives and updates to established products all the time, but it usually reserves the biggest news for its annual user conference. VMworld 2020 was held remotely due to COVID-19 concerns and took place from Tuesday, September 29 through Thursday, October 1.
VMware's partnerships and acquisitions took center stage at last year's event, with a focus on hybrid and multi-cloud platforms. Container management and Kubernetes integration was another area of growth, including the announcements of Project Pacific and Tanzu.
VMware has made headway on many of the announcements it made, including new integrations and improvements to its classic software-defined data center and virtualization products.
Check out our full coverage of the virtual VMworld 2020, from VMware highlights from the past year to breaking news from the conference.
