VMworld 2021 news and conference coverage

Last updated:October 2021

Editor's note

IT pros and partners that follow VMware’s virtualization and cloud portfolio got an earful about the company’s push to support multi-cloud, add virtualization at the edge and improve Kubernetes integration in the enterprise.

At the annual VMworld Conference, held in early October this year, VMware introduced its Cross-Cloud services portfolio, which added features to its vSphere cloud infrastructure, vRealize cloud management and the Tanzu app development portfolio.

Though the cloud technology investment is necessary to bring VMware up to speed with its competitors, some are curious to see how the multi-cloud features and support compare against public cloud and startup offerings.

Attendees also learned about Project Arctic – which helps deploy cloud-native vSphere instances – and saw the features for Tanzu Community Edition.
